Creating your first Azure VM
Abstract: Azure SQL VM is part of an Azure SQL family and is a Microsoft’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) product platform. In this 60-minute session, I will demo the creation of Azure VM in the Azure Portal. Then I will explain and show you how to configure this VM and how to connect to this VM. What are the built-in and other High Availability options there are in Azure SQL VM. We will also talk about security and licensing.
Speaker bio: Ameena Lalani is a SQL Server veteran and started her journey with SQL Server 2000. She works at Microsoft as a Customer Engineer. She has implemented numerous High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions at various companies. She imparts high quality training to her customers. Ameena is a Microsoft Certified Trainer. She holds other certifications; Azure Associate Administrator and MCSA on SQL Server 2016 Database Administrator. Ameena loves to share her knowledge about SQL Server. She is a co-leader of the Suburban Chicago SQL Server User Group. She volunteers and speaks about SQL Server at various community events throughout the United States.
